Photographer Agnes Black took creative lead, as she’s super into fashion and bridal fashion photography, so it was perfect for her. She designed a moodboard and together we agreed collaborators and curated it, but not too closely so everyone inputting had their own creative freedom and expression on the day.
It was out and out a proper nice chilled day. Just great people doing what they love, and doing it well. This is literally what the fair is about, too – independents who are forging their own path, who have developed their own style, have experience and are storming ahead with fresh ideas and just doing great, inspiring work. That is the life of an independent, a freelancer, a small business, and when people choose suppliers like us, they’re demonstrating their faith in us and sharing in our ideas and creativity.
From the Indie events this year, folk can expect to see a curated selection of great people and their small businesses, in non-traditional, urban spaces. The Manchester event is smaller, featuring 30 businesses set across three floors at the incredible Five Four Studios, whereas Sheffield has 50 small biz peeps taking over the huge warehouse that is home to Peddler Night Market, at 92 Burton Rd. Both are filled with hugely talented people who are passionate about their craft, their business, and of course, bloody love a good wedding!
Great food and licensed bars are available at both venues. At Sheffield we have a bigger focus on street food traders, and at Manchester there’s a wood fired pizza oven and food and drinks available in the DREAMY AF bar area.”
